The investigation swiftly led to the arrests of two suspects. On March 14, EPS charged Manpreet Brar, 29, and Gursimran Singh, 21, with offences connected to the homicide. Around the same time, Canada-wide warrants were issued for Lovepreet Sidhu, 27, who police also believe played a role in Singh’s death.
The case took another turn this week when police arrested Jasmeet Singh, 22, on April 1. He now faces charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping. According to police, all individuals charged were acquainted with the victim.
Detectives with the EPS Homicide Section believe Sidhu has fled the country and may currently be in India. His photo has been circulated publicly, and investigators are urging anyone who may have information about his location to come forward.
“Our investigation remains active, and we are working with international partners to locate the remaining suspect,” police said in a statement.
Authorities are asking anyone with knowledge of Sidhu’s whereabouts, or details related to the case, to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or dial #377 on a mobile device. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
