Edmonton Police Charge Three in 2023 Homicide, Warrants Issued for Fourth Suspect

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged three individuals and issued a warrant for a fourth suspect in connection with the April 2023 fatal shooting of Gabriel Dumont, a 35-year-old man found deceased in the downtown area.

The incident occurred on April 8, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m. when officers from the EPS Downtown Branch responded to reports of an injured male in the lobby of an apartment building located near 97 Street and 109 Avenue. Upon their arrival, police, along with EMS personnel, discovered Dumont deceased at the scene.

As a result of the autopsy, the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Dumont died from a gunshot wound. His death was officially ruled a homicide.

Following an extensive investigation, police have now charged Dustin Matthew Couterielle-Hilton, 33, Percy William Stanley Littlechild, 31, and Jordan Lee Travis Roasting, 34, with first-degree murder. Both Couterielle-Hilton and Littlechild are currently serving time on unrelated charges.

Joshua Adam Raymond, 31

In addition, police have issued a warrant for Joshua Adam Raymond, 31, who is also wanted on a first-degree murder charge in connection with Dumont’s death. Raymond’s current location is unknown, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

EPS is urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Raymond to contact them immediately at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.

The legal process is expected to be lengthy, with trials and legal proceedings likely to unfold over the coming months. First-degree murder cases are complex and can take considerable time to resolve. Now, they face the possibility of life sentences without parole for 25 years if convicted. The case has yet to proceed to court, and no trial dates have been set.
