The Toronto Police Service has announced the arrests of two male youths in connection with the city’s 46th homicide of the year.

On Monday, July 8, at approximately 12 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment building near King Street West and Jameson Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered a 16-year-old male, identified as Mohamed Doumbouya, who had been shot inside an apartment unit. Despite life-saving efforts, Doumbouya was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, two male youths, aged 16 and 17, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 10 Armoury Street, on Thursday, July 11, at 10 a.m., in room 606.

In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the youths charged cannot be published.
