The York Regional Police have identified the victims and charged two suspects following a fatal double shooting in a park located north of Toronto early yesterday morning. The tragic incident occurred in Keswick, where gunfire disrupted the peace of a residential area, leaving two men dead and a community in shock.
At approximately 7:28 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots near Bayview Avenue and Lowndes Avenue in Keswick. Upon arrival at Bayview Park, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to provide aid, both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Reilly MacDonald, a resident of Keswick, and 39-year-old Mark Sutcliffe.
By the evening, authorities had charged two men in connection with the killings. John McKay, 19, and Ethan Pashak-McNeil, 21, have each been charged with first-degree murder. Investigators have confirmed that the suspects and the victims were known to each other, although the exact nature of their relationship remains unclear. Police emphasized that there are no outstanding suspects and that this was not a random act of violence, assuring the public that there is no ongoing threat.
The homicide unit has asked members of the public for any additional information related to the incident.
