The investigation into Marsh’s actions began in 2017 when allegations surfaced that he had sexually assaulted children between 2015 and 2017. According to a previous media release, Marsh befriended a family during this period, gaining their trust and assuming the role of a caregiver. He allegedly used this position of trust to sexually assault the children over an extended period.

On October 5, 2017, Marsh, then 40, was arrested by officers from the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. He faced multiple charges, including four counts of assault, four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference, and one count each of invitation to sexual touching and threatening bodily harm. He appeared in court at College Park on October 10, 2017.

Further allegations emerged later that year, leading to another arrest. Between May 2012 and September 2014, Marsh allegedly befriended a different family and used his position of trust to sexually assault another child over a period of time. On November 1, 2017, Marsh was arrested again and charged with additional offenses, including invitation to sexual touching, making sexually explicit material available to a child, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, and failure to comply with recognizance. He appeared in court the following day.

On August 14, 2024 Marsh was arrested ,after new allegations surfaced. The charges now include multiple counts of sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and invitation to sexual touching. Disturbingly, Marsh has also been charged with administering a noxious substance with intent, overcoming resistance by administering a noxious thing, making child pornography, and distributing child pornography.

Marsh appeared in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on August 15, 2024. The police have released his image, expressing concerns that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.

Sexual assault encompasses any form of unwanted sexual contact, including kissing, grabbing, oral sex, and penetration. The emotional and psychological impact on victims can be profound, making it essential for those affected to seek support.

For those who have experienced sexual assault or know someone who has, there are resources available through YourChoice.to, a platform that provides information on how to report sexual assaults and access support within the community. Additionally, online exploitation can be reported to Canada’s National Tipline for Reporting the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children at cybertip.ca.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance within communities, particularly when it comes to those who hold positions of trust. The Toronto Police are urging anyone with information about Marsh or other potential victims to come forward, ensuring that those affected receive the justice and support they deserve.
