The investigation is still in its early stages. However, police have indicated that this was an isolated incident and that all parties involved are known to each other. The RCMP is working diligently to gather more information and urges the community to remain vigilant but calm.

This is not the first time Kaj Alexander Randall has been involved in a violent incident in St. Albert. In January 2016, Randall was arrested in connection with a home invasion and double stabbing in the Woodlands area. On January 20, 2016, RCMP officers responded to a call at approximately 4:00 a.m., where they found a couple suffering from serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. The victims reported that they had awoken to an unknown male intruder who attacked them before fleeing the scene.

Randall, then 21, was arrested on May 12, 2017, and charged with break and enter and two counts of aggravated assault. He was released on recognizance with strict conditions, which were monitored by the St. Albert RCMP. He was scheduled to appear in court on May 29, 2017.

The incident has understandably shaken the Riverside community. Local authorities have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance and ensure public safety.

The St. Albert RCMP is committed to providing ongoing updates as the investigation progresses. More information will be released to the public as it becomes available.
