Edmonton police have charged a second suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in the Kingsway area in May.
The incident happened on May 15, 2024. Officers found a 34-year-old man, Clinton Quintal, on the sidewalk with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. An autopsy determined Quintal had died from multiple stab wounds, confirming his death as a homicide.
Police initially arrested a suspect, 31-year-old Irvin Badarm, three days after the attack. Badarm was also linked to an unrelated robbery at the Kingsway transit station about an hour before Quintal’s stabbing. He was charged with second-degree murder and robbery, though police stated that he didn’t know either victim.
After continued investigation, police arrested a second suspect, 35-year-old Adam Chinery, on October 24, charging him with second-degree murder. Authorities confirmed that Chinery was not involved in the earlier robbery, and no further suspects are being sought in the case.
Further details about court proceedings for both Badarm and Chinery have yet to be disclosed.
