Eight Injured After Plane Flips Upon Landing at Toronto Pearson Airport

A Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis crashed while attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Family Day afternoon, leaving 15 people injured, including one child in critical condition. The plane, Delta Flight 4819, a Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR, flipped over upon landing, with 80 people onboard, including 76 passengers and 4 crew members.

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched, and over 10 paramedic vehicles responded to the scene. Fifteen passengers were injured, with three transported to hospitals with critical injuries. Twelve others were treated for mild injuries. All passengers and crew were accounted for.

Flight operations at Pearson were temporarily suspended, causing significant disruption. Flights resumed around 5:00 p.m., though delays continued. The crash occurred during winter weather, and investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) are examining the cause, with potential mechanical failure or other factors under investigation.

Delta Airlines has expressed concern for those affected and is cooperating fully with authorities. The TSB and the FAA are working together to determine the cause of the incident, and the investigation continues.
