According to EPS, the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. as a 12-year-old boy was walking home. The youth was reportedly approached by a Sprinter-style cargo van traveling east on 38 Avenue near 55 Street. The vehicle, described as either black or dark grey, had two female occupants.
One of the women, who is described as a white female around 30 years old with a medium build, shoulder-length brown hair, and wearing a black dress, allegedly exited the van and instructed the boy to get in. The boy, sensing danger, fled the scene and ran home, where he subsequently reported the incident to the police.
EPS has provided a detailed description of the suspect vehicle to aid in the investigation. The van is characterized as a tall “Amazon” style or Sprinter-like cargo van.
