The Toronto Police Service has initiated a homicide investigation following a tragic shooting incident in the Glendower Circuit and Birchmount Road area yesterday, June 15.
At approximately 1:49 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. According to initial reports, an altercation occurred involving two individuals, which escalated into a shooting.
The police have identified two suspects in connection with the incident. Suspect #1 is described as a Black male, wearing a red hat and a red shirt. Suspect #2 is also described as a Black male, dressed in a black hoodie. Following the altercation, one suspect fled the scene on foot while the other escaped in a white SUV.
Shortly after the shooting, the victim, identified as 16-year-old Kayelin Rider-Downey of Toronto, was found at a hospital. Despite efforts by medical personnel, Kayelin was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
